You may have heard of a distance MBA but be unsure just exactly what it is. Well the distance MBA aims to give the opportunity of learning to those in remote areas or to those who cannot attend a collage for whatever reason. There are two main technologies used to deliver distance MBA education. The first is Synchronous technology. This is similar to a typical classroom environment and requires a timetable to be constructed. Web conferencing is the most popular example of Synchronous technology.
The second form of delivery is the asynchronous technology. This is where students learn and access course materials at their own pace. Historically, the oldest form of distance learning was mail correspondence, but now an entire course can be taken online and has been proven to be an effective supplement for remote teaching.
Most distance MBA courses will mirror the full-time collage course. Instructional DVD's will be sent out or a streaming video of the actual class can be viewed. You should be aware that the same entry requirements and academic performance history will be required for distance MBA that is required for on-site learning. This of course will involve you taking the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). This test will need to be completed in person, but there are a number of available locations that host this test. Take to your perspective collage to find out more on this subject.
